Why assessment matters
Skin texture, scarring and other concerns require different approaches. An assessment helps decide whether microneedling, another treatment or dermatological review is appropriate. Adding PRP is a separate decision; the benefit of the combination should not be assumed from the names of its components.
What the procedure can involve
If PRP is part of the agreed procedure, a blood sample is processed to obtain a platelet-rich fraction. The clinician prepares the skin and explains comfort measures, the device and how PRP will be used. Sterile handling and single-use components where required are essential.
Preparation and recovery
Discuss medicines affecting bleeding, skin infection, active inflammation, previous unusual scarring and pigmentation problems. Redness, tenderness or swelling may occur; infection, pigment changes and scarring are possible complications. Follow the actual aftercare instructions and confirm whom to contact if recovery is not as expected.
How to judge the result
Agree realistic goals, comparable photographs and a review interval appropriate to healing. Device clearance or approval for one use does not automatically establish the safety or effectiveness of every combination with PRP or another product. The number of sessions and outcome are individual.
