Comfortable movement starts at the feet
Foot discomfort can quietly reduce walking and make an otherwise good activity plan difficult to follow. In HLC care, podology helps connect local foot findings with balance, footwear and daily movement, so the next step addresses a practical limitation.
What can be assessed
The assessment considers foot position, skin and pressure-related concerns, standing posture and movement as appropriate. An illuminated viewing platform can make sole contact visible during standing. This is a static observation; it should not be confused with a dynamic pressure map or a force-plate test.
Bring footwear you use often and explain when symptoms occur: after standing, during a run, on stairs or in particular shoes. Previous injuries and relevant medical conditions help the examiner interpret what is seen.
What you leave with
Recommendations may include exercises, footwear changes or a discussion of individual insoles. Any orthotic device or further treatment is agreed separately. The aim is to improve practical comfort and function; the examination itself does not imply that you need an insole.
